Bible Setting: Numbers 22–24 Balaam was a prophet who lived near the land of Moab during the time the Israelites were traveling to the Promised Land. Even though Balaam knew about the true God, his heart was often pulled toward money, rewards, and pleasing powerful people. One day, King Balak of Moab became afraid when he saw the Israelites camped nearby. Instead of seeking peace, Balak wanted Balaam to curse  God’s people. Balak promised Balaam riches and honor if he would
