Scripture Setting: 1 Nephi 4–16
Zoram’s story begins on a dark night in Jerusalem, when Nephi, dressed in Laban’s clothing, approached him at the treasury. Zoram was Laban’s trusted servant—loyal, responsible, and completely unaware that his life was about to change in an instant. When Nephi spoke to him in Laban’s voice, Zoram obeyed, carrying the brass plates out into the night without knowing who walked beside him.
But when Nephi revealed the truth—that Laban was dead and that Nephi was acting under the Lord’s command—Zoram faced a choice that would shape the rest of his life. He could run back to Jerusalem, risking the wrath of Laban’s allies… or he could trust these strangers and follow them into the wilderness.
Zoram chose faith.
From that moment on, he became part of Lehi’s family—marrying into the household, traveling through the wilderness, crossing the ocean, and helping build a new civilization. He is never shown as loud or dramatic; instead, he is steady, dependable, and deeply loyal.
Families reading about Zoram can relate to the courage it takes to leave behind a familiar life and start a better one. His story teaches that God honors all who choose trust over fear.

In Rumors of War, Zoram represents steadfast loyalty. Drawing his card reminds players that the Lord often works through quiet, faithful people whose choices ripple across generations.
