Bible Setting: Genesis 3
The story of the Serpent takes place in the Garden of Eden, the beautiful home where Adam and Eve first lived. Everything in the garden was peaceful and full of life—until one day, a serpent appeared with a plan to break that peace. This wasn’t just any snake. The Bible describes him as clever, sneaky, and determined to trick God’s children.
The Serpent didn’t force Adam or Eve to do anything. Instead, he used words. He twisted what God said, made small lies sound true, and convinced Eve that breaking God’s command would somehow be good for her. The serpent’s trick changed everything. It showed the world that the biggest battles we face often start with the voices we listen to.
The Serpent teaches kids an important lesson:Just because someone sounds confident or clever doesn’t mean they are telling the truth. Some voices lead us closer to God, and some pull us away. When something doesn’t feel right—or goes against what God teaches—it’s okay to stop, think, and ask for help.
For parents, this story opens an easy way to talk with kids about peer pressure, unkind influences, and how to tell the difference between truth and temptation.
In The Good Fight card game, the Serpent represents the sneaky challenges that come from lies and confusion. When kids face the Serpent card, they learn to look for truth, make wise choices, and stand strong when something feels “off.” It’s a playful way to teach discernment—one of life’s most important skills.
