Scripture Setting: 1 Nephi 17–18; 2 Nephi 1–2
After years of travel—across deserts, mountains, storms, and seas—Lehi’s family finally reached the place the Lord had promised them. Scripture simply calls it “a land of promise,” but for the weary travelers, it was more than a destination. It was a new beginning.
The land was rich and beautiful. Nephi describes it as a place filled with animals, fruit, honey, and precious ores—a land prepared by the Lord long before they ever knew they would need it. For a family who had survived famine, conflict, and uncertainty, stepping onto that shore must have felt like a deep, breath-filling relief.
But the Land of Promise came with a covenant: prosperity if they kept the commandments, destruction if they turned away. Lehi taught his children that this land was holy, set apart, and meant for righteous living. Their choices would shape everything that came after—nations rising, nations falling, and generations learning what it meant to follow the Lord.
For families today, the Land of Promise symbolizes the blessings God prepares when we follow His direction, even through our hardest journeys.

In Rumors of War, the Land of Promise card represents arrival, blessing, and destiny. Drawing it reminds players that God prepares a future for those who walk with faith—even when the path is long.
