Bible Setting: Exodus 11–12
When Moses was trying to free God’s people from slavery in Egypt, Pharaoh refused again and again to let them go. Even after nine terrible plagues, Pharaoh’s heart stayed hard. So God warned him that one final judgment would come—the most serious one of all.
God told Moses that the angel of death would pass through the land of Egypt during the night. Every home that did not follow God’s instructions would lose their firstborn child. But God also provided a way of protection and mercy. He told the Israelites to sacrifice a lamb and place its blood on the doorposts of their homes. When the angel passed by, he would see the blood and “pass over” that house, sparing everyone inside.
That night, the judgment came just as God said. In the homes of the Egyptians—where God’s warning had been ignored—there was great sorrow. But in the homes of God’s people, where the lamb’s blood covered the doors, everyone was safe. This moment became known as Passover, a powerful symbol of God’s deliverance. The next morning, Pharaoh finally let the Israelites go free.
The Final Judgment teaches kids that God is both just and merciful. He gives warnings because He loves us, and He always provides a way of protection for those who choose to follow Him. The Passover reminds us that God saves, protects, and keeps His promises.
In The Good Fight card game, the Final Judgment represents God’s justice and His power to deliver His people. When kids draw this card, they learn that choosing God’s way brings protection, while ignoring His warnings leads to consequences.
