Bible Setting: Genesis 12–23
Sarah was the wife of Abraham and one of the most important women in the Bible. When God called Abraham to leave his home and travel to an unknown land, Sarah went with him. She left behind everything familiar—her home, her friends, and her comfort—trusting that God would guide their steps.
God made an incredible promise to Abraham and Sarah: they would become the parents of a great nation. But many years passed, and Sarah still had no children. She grew older and older until it seemed impossible. Sarah sometimes struggled with doubt; once she even laughed when she heard God say she would have a son in her old age.
But God kept His promise. When Sarah was ninety years old, she gave birth to her son Isaac, whose name means “laughter.” Her sadness turned into joy, and her doubts turned into amazement. Sarah said, “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears will laugh with me.”
Sarah teaches kids that God always keeps His promises, even when they seem impossible. She shows that it’s okay to have questions or worries, but we should bring them to God and trust His timing. Sarah’s story reminds us that God can do things far beyond what we expect.
Sarah represents faith, patience, and the joy of God’s promises. When kids hear her story, they learn that waiting on God brings blessings that are worth every moment.
