Bible Setting: Exodus 14
After Pharaoh finally let the Israelites leave Egypt, the people began their journey toward the Promised Land. But soon they found themselves in a frightening situation. In front of them was the deep, wide Red Sea—and behind them, Pharaoh had changed his mind and was chasing after them with his army!
The people were trapped. There was nowhere to run and no way to fight. They cried out in fear, wondering if they would be captured again.
But Moses encouraged them, saying:
“Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord!”
God told Moses to lift his staff over the sea. Then something miraculous happened. A mighty wind blew all night long, and the waters began to pull apart. The sea opened up, forming two massive walls of water with a dry path right down the middle. The Israelites walked safely through, step by step, with water towering on both sides.
When Pharaoh’s army tried to follow, God caused the waters to crash back together, closing the sea and stopping the enemy for good. The Israelites stood on the far shore and watched God rescue them in a way no one could have imagined. They celebrated with singing, dancing, and praise.
Parting the Red Sea teaches kids that God can make a way even when there seems to be no way. When life feels scary or impossible, God is still powerful enough to guide, protect, and save His people.
In The Good Fight card game, Parting the Red Sea represents God’s power, deliverance, and victory. When kids draw this card, they learn that trusting God leads to miracles and freedom.
