Bible Setting: Exodus 1–20
Moses’ story begins in the land of Egypt, at a time when God’s people—the Israelites—were treated like slaves. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, was afraid of them and ordered that every baby boy be killed. But when Moses was born, his mother hid him to keep him safe. She placed him in a basket and set it afloat on the Nile River, trusting God to protect him. Pharaoh’s daughter found the baby and raised Moses as her own, giving him a life of safety and education.
When Moses grew up, he realized how unfairly his people were being treated. After making a big mistake and running away into the wilderness, Moses thought his life as a leader was over. But God had other plans. One day, Moses saw a bush that was on fire but wasn’t burning up. God spoke to him from the flames and told him to go back to Egypt to free His people.
With God’s power, Moses faced Pharaoh again and again. He warned him, called down plagues, and finally led the Israelites out of Egypt through the Red Sea—where God parted the waters so they could walk on dry ground. Later, Moses climbed Mount Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments, showing people how to live good and holy lives.
Moses teaches kids that God can use anyone—even someone who feels scared or unsure—to do amazing things. He shows the importance of courage, obedience, and trusting God’s voice.
In The Good Fight card game, Moses represents leadership and faith in action. When kids play his card, they learn that listening to God and standing up for what’s right can help others find freedom, hope, and peace.
