Bible Setting: Micah 1–7
Micah lived during a time when many leaders in Israel and Judah were acting unfairly. The rich were taking advantage of the poor, judges were accepting bribes, and people were worshiping idols instead of God. God sent Micah to speak truth and call the nation back to what was right.
Micah warned the people that their sinful choices would lead to trouble, but he didn’t stop there. He also gave messages full of hope and restoration. Micah told the people that God would send a ruler from Bethlehem—a Shepherd-King who would bring peace, guide His people, and rule with kindness. This prophecy pointed forward to Jesus, long before He was born.
Micah also summarized what God truly wants from His people in one powerful verse:“Do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.”This simple command shows that following God isn’t just about ceremonies or sacrifices—it’s about how we treat others.
Even when Micah saw people doing wrong, he trusted that God forgives and restores those who turn back to Him. He reminded the people that God delights in showing mercy and throws our sins into the depths of the sea.
Micah teaches kids that God cares about fairness, kindness, and humility. He shows that faith is lived out in everyday choices—helping others, being honest, forgiving quickly, and staying close to God.
Micah represents justice, mercy, and humble strength. When kids hear his story, they learn that living with kindness and fairness brings real victory.
