Bible Setting: Exodus 16
After the Israelites left Egypt, they traveled through a huge desert. There were no farms, no fruit trees, and no fields of grain. Soon the people grew hungry and began to complain. They even said they wished they were back in Egypt! But God didn’t get angry—He showed His kindness instead.
God told Moses that He would send bread from heaven to feed the people. The next morning, when the dew lifted from the ground, tiny white flakes covered the desert floor. The Israelites looked at it and said, “Manna?” which means, “What is it?”
Moses told them it was the food God had given. Everyone gathered just enough for the day. If anyone tried to save extra (except before the Sabbath), it spoiled! God wanted the people to trust Him daily, knowing He would always provide.
The manna tasted sweet, like wafers with honey. God gave it every day for 40 years, all the way until the Israelites reached the Promised Land. He also provided water from rocks and protected them in ways no one else could. Every sunrise was a reminder: God cares for His children.
Manna from heaven teaches kids that God provides for our needs, even when the situation looks impossible. He wants us to trust Him each day, knowing He always keeps His promises.
In The Good Fight card game, Manna From Heaven represents God’s daily provision, faith, and trust. When kids play this card, they learn that God always gives what we need at the right time.
