Bible Setting: Isaiah 14, Ezekiel 28, Revelation 12
Long before people lived on the earth, the Bible tells us about an angel named Lucifer. He was created bright, beautiful, and full of potential. His story takes place in heaven—a place of light, harmony, and perfect peace. Lucifer was meant to use his gifts to serve God and help others, just like all the angels.
But something grew inside him: pride. Instead of being grateful for the goodness around him, Lucifer wanted more. He wanted to be above others, even above God. Pride turned into rebellion, and rebellion turned into a fall. Lucifer lost the light he once had, and he chose a path of selfishness and harm.
Lucifer’s story warns us that even great gifts can be misused when our hearts turn away from what is good. Pride makes us think we’re better than others. It makes us ignore guidance, push people away, and make choices that hurt ourselves and those we love.
But this story also teaches something hopeful: God wants us to choose light. He invites everyone—even us today—to listen, to learn, and to turn away from selfishness.
In The Good Fight card game, the Lucifer card helps kids understand what happens when someone uses their power the wrong way. He represents the challenges and temptations we face in life. When kids play against him in the game, they learn that goodness, courage, and obedience to God always defeat pride and selfishness.
Lucifer’s story reminds families that choosing humility and love is the real path to strength.
