Bible Setting: Exodus 17; Numbers 13–14; Joshua 1–24
Joshua’s story begins while Moses was still leading the Israelites. Joshua was a young warrior who trusted God with all his heart. When Moses needed someone strong and faithful to help lead the people, Joshua was always ready. He fought battles, protected the camp, and stayed close to God’s presence.
One of Joshua’s most famous moments happened when Moses sent twelve men to explore the Promised Land. Ten of them came back scared, saying the land was full of giants. But Joshua and Caleb said, “We can do this! God is with us!” Even when everyone else panicked, Joshua chose faith over fear.
Years later, when Moses died, God chose Joshua to lead Israel into the Promised Land. It was a huge responsibility. But God told him, “Be strong and courageous…for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua believed God’s promise.
Joshua led the Israelites across the Jordan River, where God made the water stand still. He marched around Jericho for seven days until the walls came down. He helped the people settle in their new land and reminded them to stay faithful to God.
Joshua teaches kids that courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s trusting God even when things feel big or scary. He shows that listening to God and standing strong helps us do amazing things.
In The Good Fight card game, Joshua represents bravery and faithful action. When kids play his card, they learn that confidence doesn’t come from being the strongest—it comes from knowing God is with them in every battle.
