Bible Setting: Genesis 17–26
Isaac’s story begins long before he was born. God had promised Abraham and Sarah that they would have a son, even though they were far too old to expect children. It sounded impossible—so impossible that Sarah even laughed when she heard it! But God kept His promise, and Isaac was born, bringing joy and hope into their home.
Isaac grew up learning about faith from his parents. One of the most powerful moments in his life came when God tested Abraham by asking him to offer Isaac as a sacrifice. Isaac didn’t fight or run. He trusted his father, and Abraham trusted God. At the last moment, God stopped the test and provided a ram instead. This showed that God never wanted harm—He wanted Abraham’s heart. Isaac learned that God always provides a way.
As an adult, Isaac became a gentle, steady leader who reopened wells, made peace with neighbors, and continued the covenant God made with Abraham.
Isaac teaches kids that God keeps His promises, even when the answer takes time. His story also shows the importance of trust—trusting God, trusting parents, and trusting that doing right brings peace.
In The Good Fight card game, Isaac represents promise and patience. When kids play his card, they learn that God’s blessings often come through steady faith and choosing peace over fighting.
