Bible Setting: Esther 3–7
Haman lived in Persia during the time when Queen Esther and her cousin Mordecai were part of the Jewish people living far from home. Haman was one of the king’s highest officials. He loved power, attention, and being treated like someone very important. But deep inside, Haman’s heart was filled with pride and anger.
When Mordecai refused to bow to him, Haman became furious. Instead of talking or seeking understanding, Haman decided to punish all the Jewish people because of one man. He convinced King Xerxes to sign a law that would destroy them. Haman thought nothing could stop him.
But God had already placed Esther in the palace for this very moment. Esther bravely spoke to the king, revealed Haman’s cruel plan, and stood up for her people. When the king realized what Haman had done—and how he had tricked him—everything changed.
In a dramatic twist, the very danger Haman planned for others became his own downfall. His pride had blinded him, and his hatred caught up with him.
Haman teaches kids that pride and hatred never lead to good outcomes. When we try to hurt others, or when we think we’re better than everyone else, we end up hurting ourselves. His story also shows how God watches over His people, even when danger feels close.
In The Good Fight card game, Haman represents evil intentions and harmful pride. When kids encounter his card, they learn that God’s justice always wins and that choosing kindness and humility leads to real victory.
