Bible Setting: Ezekiel 1–48
Ezekiel lived among the Jewish people who had been taken captive to Babylon. Even though they were far from home, God had not forgotten them. God chose Ezekiel to be a prophet—someone who would remind the people that He was still with them, still speaking, and still powerful.
Ezekiel’s ministry was filled with some of the most incredible visions in the Bible. In his very first vision, he saw a stormy cloud glowing with fire, four living creatures with wings, and wheels that shined like sparkling jewels. It was a picture of God’s glory, showing that God rules over everything—even in a foreign land.
God gave Ezekiel messages to help the people understand why they were in exile and how much God wanted them to turn back to Him. Ezekiel often acted out his messages—like building small models of Jerusalem or lying on one side for many days—to help people see God’s warnings clearly.
One of Ezekiel’s most famous visions was the Valley of Dry Bones. Ezekiel saw a valley full of bones, completely dry and lifeless. But when God told him to speak, the bones came together, gained muscle and skin, and came to life again. This vision showed that God can bring hope, life, and restoration even when everything seems lost.
Ezekiel teaches kids that God is powerful enough to bring new life to any situation. He reminds us that listening to God, even when it’s hard or unusual, opens the door for amazing things.
Ezekiel represents restoration, vision, and God’s transforming power. When kids hear his story, they learn that God can bring hope and strength into every battle—even the ones that feel impossible.
