Bible Setting: 1 Kings 19; 2 Kings 2–13
Elisha’s story begins when the prophet Elijah placed his cloak on him, choosing him as the next prophet of Israel. Elisha left his farm and followed Elijah, learning how to listen to God and serve others with courage.
When Elijah was taken to heaven in a whirlwind, Elisha received a “double portion” of his spirit, meaning God would do even greater miracles through him.
Elisha’s life was full of amazing moments, but many of them came from helping people in simple, caring ways. He purified poisoned water so a whole town could drink safely.
He helped a widow fill jars with oil so she could pay her debts. He prayed for a young boy who died, and God brought the child back to life. He even helped soldiers find peace and stop fighting.
One day, the army of Aram surrounded Elisha’s city. Elisha’s servant was terrified—until Elisha prayed for God to open his eyes. Suddenly the servant saw God’s angels filling the mountains, ready to protect them. God blinded the enemy soldiers, and Elisha led them to safety without harming them.
Elisha teaches kids that God’s power is strongest when used to help, heal, and bless others. He shows that being a hero doesn’t always mean fighting—it often means caring, praying, and trusting God to work in quiet but mighty ways.
In The Good Fight card game, Elisha represents gentle strength and miraculous faith. When kids play his card, they learn that choosing kindness and trusting God can make a powerful difference in every battle they face.
