DANIEL — The Man Who Chose Faith Over Fear

Bible Setting: Daniel 1–6
Daniel was taken from his home in Jerusalem when he was still young and brought to Babylon, a place with different customs, different rules, and different gods. Even though everything around him changed, Daniel chose to stay faithful to the Lord. He didn’t eat the king’s food if it went against God’s law, and God blessed him with wisdom, strength, and favor.
Daniel quickly became known as a man who could be trusted. The king even placed him in a powerful leadership position. But some jealous officials didn’t like Daniel and tried to trap him. They tricked the king into signing a law that said no one could pray to anyone except the king.
Daniel had a choice: hide his prayers to stay safe or continue praying to God openly. Daniel chose God.
He knelt by his window three times a day and prayed, just as he always had. The jealous rulers reported him, and Daniel was thrown into a den filled with hungry lions. But God sent His angel to shut the lions’ mouths, and Daniel came out unharmed. The king was amazed and commanded everyone to honor the God of Daniel.
Daniel teaches kids that doing what is right is always worth it, even when it’s scary. He shows that trusting God gives us courage, and that God protects those who stay faithful.
In The Good Fight card game, Daniel represents courage, integrity, and steadfast faith. When kids play his card, they learn that standing for God—even when others pressure them—brings strength, hope, and victory.
